The way we work

Our Design Approach

We approach every project as a true collaboration. We listen carefully, interpret intuitively, and refine every detail with precision — from the first conversation in your home to the final finishing touches that make the space yours.

Rather than imposing a house style, we draw out what is particular about the way you live: the rooms you use at the end of a long day, the pieces you’d never part with, the rhythms of family or entertaining that shape how each space needs to work. From there we balance beauty, functionality and individuality in proportions that feel right — never overworked, never generic.

Our process is clear and considered from concept to completion. Working hand-in-hand with trusted artisans, suppliers and contractors, we manage every phase so the journey itself is as pleasurable as the finished space.

What we believe

Our Design Philosophy & Ethos

At Cranberryhome, we believe exceptional design is not just seen — it is felt. Every space we create is a refined expression of the people who live within it, balancing beauty, functionality and individuality in perfect harmony. Our philosophy centres on elevating everyday living through thoughtful, intentional design, combining timeless principles with a contemporary sensibility. The result is interiors that feel sophisticated yet effortless, curated yet deeply personal.

As a multi award-winning interior design studio in Bedford, we prioritise timeless elegance over passing trends, creating interiors designed to age beautifully. By working with trusted artisans, suppliers and contractors, we uphold the highest standards of craftsmanship, ensuring every finish, texture and element is executed to perfection.

Our ethos is rooted in the belief that great design must be both beautiful and functional. We create spaces that not only look exceptional but enhance the way you live, bringing a sense of calm, comfort and cohesion to every home. At Cranberryhome, we don’t just design interiors — we create homes that tell your story.

Quirky questions

A few wonderfully unserious things to know about us.

  1. Minimalism or Maximalism?

Maximalism — more is more. I thrive on energy, variety and bringing bold ideas together to create something vibrant and impactful.
    Hugo's answer
Minimalism — less is more. I focus on simplicity and creating a balanced, calm space that avoids overstimulation and helps everything feel clear and intentional.
    Kirsty's answer
  2. To dunk, or not to dunk your biscuit in your hot drink?

Definitely not! I prefer to keep my biscuit crisp and intact so I can enjoy its original texture and avoid it becoming soggy.
    Hugo's answer
Yes, absolutely. I think dunking enhances the experience — blending the flavours and softening the texture just enough.
    Kirsty's answer
  3. What's the best part of your job?

Receiving positive feedback from clients who genuinely love the designs.
    Hugo's answer
The creativity and freedom it offers. It often feels like an adult version of The Sims.
    Kirsty's answer
  4. What car would you drive — money no object?

    Polestar 6 with a drone — I value innovation, cutting-edge technology and forward-thinking design.
    Hugo's answer
Blood-red Mustang. I love the bold, powerful engine and the attention-grabbing design that carries real presence.
    Kirsty's answer
  5. What's your passion outside work?

    Running half- and full-marathons.
    Hugo's answer
    Football and javelin.
    Kirsty's answer
  6. If you were a kitchen appliance, which one would you be?

Coffee machine — dependable, motivating, and trusted to get people started and stay productive through the day.
    Hugo's answer
Convection oven — efficient, reliable, and able to handle multiple jobs at once. A staple of any good kitchen.
    Kirsty's answer
  7. What would your dream superpower be?

Telepathy. I have a deep curiosity about people, strong empathy and a desire to understand others on a deeper level.
    Hugo's answer
Metamorphosis. The ability to transform with each challenge or opportunity — to make the most of every situation.
    Kirsty's answer
  8. Where's your dream holiday spot?

Maldives. I value peace, luxury and escapism — calm, beautiful surroundings where I can truly relax and recharge.
    Hugo's answer
Hawaii. A balance of adventure and relaxation — drawn to the natural beauty, the outdoors and a vibrant, energetic atmosphere.
    Kirsty's answer
  9. If you were a Little Greene colour, which one would you be?

Juniper Ash — for its warmth and intimacy without ever feeling overwhelming.
    Hugo's answer
Obsidian Green — near-black with a subtle green undertone. Dark, refined and quietly full of character.
    Kirsty's answer
  10. A design trend you secretly love?

Biophilic design — bringing greenery, natural light and organic materials inside to create spaces that feel calmer, healthier and more connected to nature.
    Hugo's answer
Industrial interiors — exposed brick, metal finishes, beams and pillars. Where that raw architectural character really works, it sings.

Thank you Hugo, Abigail and team for the amazing transformation completed on our bedroom and ensuite. The previous room was outdated and not fit for purpose, Hugo came up with a number of very innovative solutions to ensure the space was best used. On top of that we are thrilled with the design, being luxurious and calming. Cranberryhome absolutely went beyond our expectations in terms of transforming our home and we are so grateful to them for the designs, professionalism and managing the project. It has been a real pleasure working with them for the last few month. Thank you! Laura & Henry
